- I am a seasoned technology business leader with the bulk of my career involved in product & service development and deployment. Most recently, I worked at Virtua Health, south NJ’s leader in community healthcare, as their CIO where I was responsible for strategy & planning as well as their $30M+/year IT operations. I met both Virtua’s and my own personal goals by fashioning the 5 year “Digital Transformation”, gaining alignment, over $100M in funding and demonstrated quantitative progress in advancing patient care as they now lead the state in profitability and deliver nationally-discriminated patient satisfaction, quality and safety. Prior to that, I led technology-based businesses, spending 17 years at various GE divisions, a (now) Honeywell building automation company and Enron Broadband in the roles of CTO, CIO and CEO. I have a positive track record in both growing and right-sizing businesses, handling product lines and complete P&Ls in the $100M area. I find that wherever I have worked, I bring three key strengths to the table: (1) a passion and energy for aligning strategy with customers, (2) the ability to grow both revenues and margins by tailoring and applying best practices, inc. product, program and portfolio management principles, IT and Quality frameworks, and (3) a broad & ever deepening understanding of new technology and how to best leverage it. At this time, my future plan is to primarily help the healthcare industry deliver on its promise of better, longer lives yet with an improved cost structure by leveraging technology. I can reach this goal as a consultant, technology/product leader or in helping another provider or payer as a CIO/CTO.
